the number three.

I'm still curious about this whole thing.

WHAT?!?!?!?!??

Things are too frickin' weird sometimes.

I was sure they'd never tour again. Seeing one of their live shows has been on my wishlist since, like, forever. So last night I'm having a tea, just about dead smack in the middle of this book that I recently ordered and I get a text message from a friend who writes: 'FLEETWOOD MAC, BITCH! MARCH 26! ACC!!' To which I responded: 'Balls. Nice try, jerk. '(since she's the biggest liar/prankster/boy who cried wolf, ever) Again, I got: 'Dude, March 26! I'm not even shitting you right now.' Uh huh. Sure.
I got to my computer this morning and thought I'd Google it online just for the hell of it. Low and behold:

!!!!!!!!!!!!

But wait; only 4/5 on this tour? No Christine McVie??? Will she replaced? And if so, who will replace her?

"After two decades of touring, more band member additions and departures, some stints in rehab, and solos careers, the fivesome returned in 1997 recording a live album The Dance which brought Fleetwood Mac back to their superstar status—becoming the fifth highest-selling live album of all time in the United States. Shortly thereafter, Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This was the last breath for Christine McVie, who “officially” left the band in 2003, when they recorded Say You Will (even though she lended backup vocals for the album). Since 2006, Buckingham has been chatty about a reunion tour which has left critics buzzing and Fleetwood Mac lovers wondering. Stevie Nicks gal pal Sheryl Crow was said to be joining—other sources report that Crow would be replacing Christine McVie. Additional media say Nicks would not tour again without McVie. So I can’t help but wonder, will Fleetwood Mac be back for another dance? Buckingham told Billboard magazine earlier in the year that Fleetwood Mac was definitively talking about touring with the possibility of new material; he also denied that Sheryl Crow would be joining the lineup. He says that the band would most likely record again after the tour, as he thought touring would reunite them artistically." -nickslive.com

I'm so stoaked I could kick someone in the nuts.

Lindsey, you hot bitch.

Did you mean: occlusal?

Mils,
today's post is strictly for you, cause I'm still boggled by the fact that we've had the same dentist since we were toddlers. Tania and I had a nice laugh about occlusals today. She said the reason the hygienists keep changing up like crazy is cause of that dental school he's running now (which would explain the bibs full of blood and the ipods).

My general memory of him throughout all the years I've gone there:

(reclined in the chair, safety goggles on, glaring into the light, Genesis playing in the background, Asian assistant humming in between verses....)

"Gimme a 1 2 3B on the lateral bicuspid.
Left occlusal second from the left on the lower right to the left of the lower right molar on the upper right hand side.
Occlusal 1.
Occlusal 3C.
Lower cuspid in the lateral and central on the bite.
Ai ya yaiiii.
Occlusal.
Occlusal.
4 B AND D.
Do you grind your teeth while you sleep?
Grind?? Or clench?? We need to get you a guard for the night time. I have the forms in the front ok? Remind me.
Remind me.
Check the lower cuspid in the third quad and lower quad. Make a note of those for the next time. We might have to do those suckers with the others.
Occlusal again on the second lateral. Quads.
Occlusals.
Laterals.
Geeeeze....we gotta keep you here a whole night to get you running again. WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH YOU HUH??? Manaja l'America, you kids. You kids.

Bite, bite, bite.
bite, bite, bite.
Harder?
Bite, bite, bite.
Gooood.
Ok."

Heather's itunes.

As I walked by her computer, Heather noticed me humming to the Joan Baez song she had on cranked up to the max. She burst out laughing and pulled me over to look at what was up next in the itunes Library.
I damn near peed myself.
She fucking rules.

Rainy Days and Mondays - The Carpenters (1971)

I have yet to hear a female voice more beautiful, pure and controlled than Karen Carpenter's. I saw a made-for-tv movie about her life when I was about 9 and it was one of the most inspiring and moving things I'd ever seen (still to this day). My mom had us tape the movie the night it aired and I swear my sister and I played it back so many times we wore the VHS tape right out. I've been searching the internet for a copy of this movie for a while now. I think I may have finally found the real one. Yay.

Note to Claudia: Karen had a passion for the drums at a young age, and when everyone told her to just hold the mic and sing because a drum kit wasn't lady-like, she told them to eat it. Pretty bad ass for the time huh? ;)

busted up mac.

My mac laptop is broken and completely useless forevermore (i think).
I woke up on Saturday morning, pressed the space bar to 'wake it up from its sleep' and everything froze.
Hmmm.
I restarted the only way I really could. I pushed the button and held it until the screen went black and all sounds were nulled to complete silence. When it started up again, it took about 1 hour to call up the desktop screen and the only thing that loaded up was my background photo. W T F ?
Packed her up, got into my car and brought it right to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Three dudes told me that they were sorry to say that although files could be backed up one way or another, there was NO hope for fixing it. The data processor motherboard thingy was all ruined and worn out and I'd just have to buy a new one.

PARDON???

I waltzed around the store in a daze glancing at the new shiny laptops with their insane pricetags. I'm envisioning having to pick one up this week, but I still want to get a second opinion from some mac nerds tomorrow. I'm using a PC for the time being and it's a very uncomfortable feeling.

melissa. says:

highly addictive chocolate.

Tania brought in a big box of chocolate today to sell for the children of Jane & Finch or Rexdale or something like that. We pretty much savaged through most of the packs already; all for the kids, of course.

The Red Cross will be here all day tomorrow. The last time they set up at this location I wanted to give blood but was unable to because I recently visited the Dominican Republic and that's a BIG no-no for them. Mosquitoes and malaria don't jive too well with Red Cross folk. I was slightly sad and slightly relieved. They were still super cool about me showing up and gave me cookie and an apple juice all the same. I'm thinking about giving it another shot tomorrow.

5/81.

Mom and sis, May of 1981 (according to the faded blue ink on the back of the photo).

I came across this last night for the first time while flipping through and old album. I don't remember much about the first house we lived in. I can vaguely remember the main hallway/stairs and maybe a few pieces of furniture, but the avocado-green tiled walls and red prints that make up this bathroom seem completely foreign to me. My mother looks shy and proud. I associate nothing but simplicity and innocence with this photo and time.

nothing but the hits.

I've been asked to be a part of the bridal party for a friend's wedding. The big shin dig is tomorrow. All day and all night. 6am to 3am. A full out big, fat 400+ Italian wedding.
Navy blue homemade two piece nonna suits.
Sweaty Tip Top Tailor shirts.
Slide shows.
Not-so-current Top 40 hits.
Chicken dances.
Limbo sticks.
Drunk uncles.
Gossipy aunts.
Trains.
Stains.
Lame kissing games.
Hand-linked circles around slow dancing couples.
Dry ice (tons of it, I'm sure.)
And lots of requests for tunes like this. Middle aged Italians who aren't afraid to shake it out a little on the dance floor totally DIG tunes like this.
