Tonight marked the last night of announced dates thus far on PJ Harvey's White Chalk Tour. March 9th, Parco Della Musica Auditorium, Rome. (oh the things i would have done or sold to be at the show.) Judging by the tone of her latest release White Chalk and a few reviews I've read, the live shows have unveiled a side of PJ we've never seen before. Less distortion. Lots of piano. Layered string instruments. A more intimate and serene set of songs this time around. I'm still waiting patiently on the announcement of a few Canadian dates. Until then, I'll have to settle for the YouTubes. Meh.
Here's a gorgeous live performance of White Chalk:
(Seriously, what's cooler that PJ fuckin Harvey with a vintage upright piano and a harmonica?)
